I went to this shop due to coupon they have online for a smog check.
After an hour long wait, Abel's son has informed me that the my car could not pass the smog check due to some functions were not ready. he advised me to drive it for couple hundreds miles and come for a re-test. he suggested that will I applied for a repair state assistance which i did and I and was approved.
When I came back for the re-test, he claimed that I do have to pay for an additional test. When i question the new charge he became rude, careless and unprofessional. I had informed him that I will be giving a bad review and simply stated that he does NOT care.
I ended leaving his shop, went to other nearby smog test shop and my car had passed the smog test on the first trial.
I would NOT recommend to anyone to use this fraudul mechanic..............he is crooked.

I'm very pleased with Abel &sons work. They fixed my 2 cars, my daughters and son in law as well at a very affordable price. He's honest and trustworthy.

I was very excited to go Abel when I read the previous review from a women consumer as I am and Abel boasted to help people. But didn't last long. My car didn't pass the smog check. I applied and was approved for assistance for repairs. When I called abel to give him the good news. I asked him why was his diagnosis so expensive which i have to pay out of pocket he said that "he is basically doing the work for free because the state takes 6 months to pay him". I found anothershop in the same city for half the price And he wont charge me for the smog check again Since I already paid abel. That's what I call helping people and without boasting.

As a consumer, and a woman consumer at that, it is nice to have an honest man as my mechanic. He is a family man with good old fashioned values. Abel's pricing is fair and he has always given me the truth - up front. He keeps his mechanic certification and training current, so this further strengthens my trust. He provides transportation to and from my home when/if necessary. I really appreciate being able to call on Abel and trust what he says I need for my vehicle.
