I had used this smog station in the past and thought highly of them. On June 6, 2014 I called Smog Tech Tracy, and I spoke to A on the phone, I was calling to find out the price to smog the car since it was an 1987. A gave me two options, Option 1 - for $99.75 plus $8.25 for pass certificate, I would receive 2 required tests and a free retest or Option 2 - for $78.75 receive 2 required tests. I again asked due to the age of the car in his professional opinion which should I do? He then asked me for the vehicle license plate number so he could run a smog history. Once he ran the smog history he recommended to me "Option 1", "Because after reading the history, this vehicle has failed several times." I asked, "if it passes" the first time why do I need to pay for a retest?" His response, "Because if it doesn't pass, it will cost way more." Based on the smog history I chose as recommended "option 1"

I then went home awaiting their call and looking on the DMV website, I find their smog history site. I enter my vehicle information and after reading the report, I find only ONE failed test. At 5:57 pm I receive a call from the tech, "Umm we close at 6 pm were you planning on leaving your car here overnight or are you picking it up?" I reply, "I was waiting for your call, I will be right there. I return to Smog Tech Tracy to pick up my car and the last employee there told me it passed and asked for $108. My response was may I speak to A, and went on to explain he recommended after my smog history etc. This employee refused to give me information to contact a manager, supervisor anyone above his head, he said come back tomorrow after 10:30 am and he should be here. I paid the fee to get my car. I feel robbed my car didn't have several failed tests he knew that so why would he scam me like that?
