General Info

Duke s Chowder House has come a long way since 1976 when founder Duke Moscrip broke away from his partnership in Ray s Boathouse to start the original Duke s Bar and Grill. In 1989 the company opened the first Duke s Chowder House. The restaurant maintains more than five locations throughout Washington. Its famous all natural clam chowder recipe originated with Moscrip s grandfather in New England and has won countless awards, including the Seattle Chowder Cook Off three years in a row. Seven other chowders have now been introduced and other soups and chowders are continually being developed. Duke s has also won the Gills and Grills best seafood barbecue contest with its Indian salmon bake recipe. Besides chowder, the restaurant also serves vegetables, salads, seafood dishes, fish and chips, seafood tacos, pot pies, burgers and steak. Duke s Chowder House maintains a location in Seattle.
