Please please stay completely clear of these sleaze balls. I am moving from CA to AZ. They quoted me $2300 for a 7000 pound move. They packed everything into the truck (taking forever) after which the 'foreman' informed me that I would be charged almost $700 for packing materials. What did these include? For example charges of $100 to put 2 cheap lights (made of plastic and metal) into lamp boxes, even though I had wrapped them both in plastic. $150 in tape--they put tape around everything so as to use as much as possible. And $180 to package my washing machine even though I told them I was fine with them just putting some blankets around it and putting it on the truck.
I spoke with the manager off the company and he was rude, disrespectful and kept trying to bargin with me. I told him I wouldn't pay that price and he told me that he'd remove everything they'd packaged, unpackage it and I could sign a waiver for the items which would give them no responsibility for my stuff. Then after many more phonecalls he told me that we didn't want to do business together and he would be loading my stuff off the truck. At that point I wanted nothing more to do with them. They broke my desk slamming it back down in the house, and destroyed my stairs.
At the very end I asked for the paperwork back that I filled out and they refused to give it to me. He got in the truck and almost run us over while we were still standing there.
I have now read many reviews of this same company, and they have had the same experience. I will be filling many complaints and hopefully consulting a lawyer. These guys should not be in business.
I am lucky to have awesome friends who came over and packed all my stuff in a Uhaul. I am so relieved that they don't have my stuff.
Worst company ever--they seriously make my skin crawl thinking about it. I had to give them a star to publish this, but they don't even deserve that.
The guys from Cali moving was so so so helpful and patient, returned my several calls and emails with answers promptly, efficiently and nicely (most other people have forgotten to be nice these days). Their price was the lowest I found, and I shopped around. Moving day went well, albeit a bit slowly. Guys never stopped - the hardest pieces (narrow tight spaces + big wide sofas, bleck) were at the end and they removed railings and took doors off hinges happily for us. Thanks guys!
I had never used movers before and I was extremely nervous. However when I calld Cali Moving , the crew put me at ease immediately with their friendly and professional attitude. They moved quickly yet carefully and asked questions when needed. The cost was very reasonably and came way under what the estimate they gave me. All and all it was a great experience and I would definitely use them again!
Cali Moving is amazing! I didn't have the opportunity to work with Chris, but he put me in touch with his buddy, john , who did a wonderful job moving all my stuff in back in December . John was professional, quick, and very friendly. Not to mention, he treated my Ikea furniture like antiques. The pricing is very reasonable and fit my (nonprofit worker by day, grad school student by night) budget. I will definitely use Cali Moving for all my future moves!
