The San Diego Community College District governs various colleges, including the City College, the Mesa College, the Miramar College and the ContinuingEd college. Its colleges offer a wide range of courses to prepare students to successfully transfer to the four-year-college of their choice, earn an associate's degree and even pursue a vocational program in areas ranging from aviation to travel and tourism. The ContinuingEd college is a multicultural institution composed of six noncredit continuing education campuses. The institution provides various short-term vocational courses that lead to employment and promotion. Additionally, the district, located in San Diego, offers various degree courses in arts and science. It also offers many transferable courses to the University of California, the California State University and private institutions. It organizes several sports activities that include cross country, basketball, football and swimming.
