Being raised in the Detroit area coney island hot dogs were something you could get for a quick lunch or for dinner. Since moving to Florida 25 years ago we have tried every coney we could find none could ever compare to the "Detroit Coney Island" not even close! Until we happened to find LUKE'S coney Island. This is the real deal!!! The coney is a skin on (or not if you prefer) with chili, onions & mustard. You can also have loose seasoned meat and chili. My favorite is loose meat,skin on hot dog,chili,onions & mustard. That is not on the menu but,Luke (the owner) & his staff were more than happy to accomadate me. Delicious authentic food,very clean and friendly. Luke, you may have to add my favorite combo to your menu.. Don't forget to try the chili fries!!! Check out the menu on line. OMG......sooooo good! It is Detriot coney island hot dogs. Clean, friendly, fresh food.

I stopped by Lukes last week and it is the real Detroit experience the real dog and loose hamburger and chilli finally someone has brought us the real products from home.My only concern is the pricing of the dog at $3.85 and the loose hamburger $3.25 plus $.70 for the chilli plus tax.I realize they must ship the products from Detroit I would recommend including the chilli not making it addition except on chilli frys.Don't take this the wrong way I want Luke to succeed and open more coneys. I will stopping be by for my for my fix just not as often as I would like as it also 35 miles from Valrico to Lukes.So if you want the real Detroit experience Luke has it I just believe adding chilli should be included just like it is at every coney in wayne, oakland and macomb county.See you at Lukes!!

We were recently visiting Florida (from Michigan) and happened on Luke's Coney Island in St. Pete. We enjoyed our meal so much that we made sure to plan a second visit before we headed back to Michigan. This is one stop we will continue to make whenever we are in Florida!

Drove all the way from North Pinellas to see if I could find a real Coney. WOW it was worth the drive!!!!! Absolutely can't wait to go back.

When I go back to Michigan there are three places that I have to eat at everytime: Coney Island, Big John's Steak and Onion, and Frankenmuth Chicken! It is great to know that now I do not have to travel to Michigan to get an authentic coney. Anyone that has had a coney in Detroit will understand and know that this is the real deal! I recommend Luke's Coney Island to anyone who wants to experience a real authentic Detroit Coney Island. To those who already have welcome home! To the owners of Luke's please bring me a local Big John's Steak and Onion and figure out a way to bring Frankenmuth to me, please !

If you want a real coney its the only place in St. Pete to go to. Its hard to find a real "snappy" dog these days, glad they finally opened.
