Save your money for Amazon or Borders

Used to be you could always strike up a good conversation over a book you were exchanging or ask for recommendations based on an author you liked. Lately the attitude of the staff has changed. I stopped by to trade in about 20 books, half of them hardbacks. I knew that the queue would be pretty long (and it was) so my wife and I planned to leave the books there, have some lunch, and come back in an hour. NOPE!! The snotty guy behind the counter informed me that I had to stay in the store while they determined the trade in value of the books. (Typically, you get more trade in value than you do straight cash.) I asked how long it would take before he could get to mine and he said probably an hour. I said "Fine, I'll just donate them." As soon as I said that the manager said, "He's donating them? Okay, go ahead and process his books now." Now that's rude! Well, I picked up my hardbacks to take them back and she had the audacity to say "You're not donating those?" Just rude!
