I saw Victoria Goldsten at the Washington Institute of Natural Medicine for lymphatic drainage massage, for my swelling and to do range of motion for my right hand. My swelling improved and was able use my right hand more effectively. Victoria's therapy was very helpful.

Previous to my stroke I had a problem with fibroids. My doctor told me I had to have a hysterectomy. I called Victoria and asked her if she could help. She said she could. I had abdominal surgery and my stomach was so sore and sensitive from swelling and having had five incisions. I was referred to Victoria by my surgeon for a special kind of massage called lymphatic drainage to help with my pain and swelling. I was worried that it might be painful but I went with my doctor's advice and signed up for a massage. The massage was very relaxing and i noticed a difference just after the first session. Boy, what a relief! I was having swelling after a major surgery and I needed help. It was causing quite a bit of pain and stiffness. I called and found out that she has an office in Olney, MD and I was thrilled because I live close by. I went in for a visit and I felt so much better after the session. Victoria was also very informative. She explained everything to me and gave me suggestions for things I could do at home. She took her time and did not rush me. She gave me time to talk and time to review my health. This added about 1/2 hour to my visit but I was glad she did because I then understood what I was receiving and what I could do in the future. I highly recommend Dr Goldsten. After countless visits to doctors seeking relief of symptoms related to Hashimotos Thyroiditis and menopause, I found relief and a medical professional who didn't dismiss my symptoms, mainly brain fog and lethargy. Dr Goldsten spent time listening to my symptoms and discussing options when "regular" doctors spent the allocated 10 min and sent you off with another prescription and more blood work, only to be told "you're blood work is fine" with no answers to relief of the brain fog symptoms.
