I love this vet office. The entire staff is friendly and courteous. The doctors explain everything and seem to provide solutions that don't always "break the bank." My dogs seem to love being boarded here and the staff comes across as happy to see my monsters everytime.

Maxie my schnauzer has a lump on her throat, so my husband took her to this pet vet to be checked ... Vet said she felt a little lump a few months ago when she was given the necessary shots but was never told us about it until 2 days ago ... She took specimen to be tested and will let us know the results in a couple of days .. No call , so we contacted them and they told us that the result was inconclusive due to not enough cells on the slide so reaspiration is needed.... So we have to wait until Monday because of the weekend (?) .... So no treatment until then .... In the mean time my Maxie is eating less n less ...

Right now I am looking for another Vet and I will never recommend this Camino Al Norte Pet Hospital ... They also charged us more than they quoted us .... Next step will be contacting BBB .....

i have gone to this place for years now.since dr v left this place could care less about your pet.everything they do is a scam to get more money from you .1500 bucks spent trying to save my dogs life only to be put down 2 weeks later.my other pup 800 bucks the meds they gave me were a joke and that dog was put down .now my 3rd dog after having his nails done and taken in the back wont come near me and runs and hides .wtf did they do to him in the back room .then the dr. puts meds in my dogs nose and cuts the inside of it open and he is in need of medical attention and i cant afford to pay for there mistakes .dont ever take ur pet here trust me .

This place is great , I love the way Dr V is so caring with my dogs and with me . They really care I will go no where else for my dogs

I had always taken my dog here, but it has gone thru different management. I was very impressed with Dr. Varela who use to manage the place, I didn't know that he is no longer there and was also not advised. I took my dog for an eye trauma paid $225 dollars for some tests and 2 eye drop meds and to find out that I have to take her to an opthamologist who will be performing the same tests they did there, I asked can the opthamologist use the same test results? She said he likes to do his own tests. When I confronted the Dr. and said why didn't you just charge me the visit fee of $42 and tell me to take her to the opthamologist so that he/she can do the tests. Instead of having me pay twice for the same tests. She said she would call the opthamologist. She came back and said that after speaking with the opthamologist he was not very enthusiastic about by dog's eye recovery. She gave me some eye drops and charged me $225. I feel totally ripped off. I'm going there for the follow up appointment in a couple days only because she said it is included on the payment for this visit. But after that I do not plan on going back. Sad to say but this is the reason why people will not take their sick pets to the vet, because of scam artists like this. I love my dog and I know that she is worth every penny, but I don't like being ripped off like this. I am now in search of a new vet clinic for her. And I will definitely not go to the Opthamologist she recommended: LVVSC- I can't trust this place after what happened.

I have taken my pets here since I moved here to north las vegas. Dr. Barton has been very understanding to my worries and my pets needs. I believe this vet is very well priced. they have not pushed things on me like pervoius vets back in California. they give me options for my pets needs. I have been given excellent service from all staff I have come into contact with. So far my favorite doctor is Dr Barton but my roommate has had the young African American man who they were very pleased with also. they accept care credit which is also a major plus. I have no doubt that my pets are getting the best care here.

The Puerto Rican doctor barely takes the time to do the work you do pay for, exhibits little understanding or compassion, let alone expect him to go the extra mile for you or your pet. To this day, I will not comprehend why some choose a path when they clearly exhibit it is not one they are passionate about. This hospital is a disappointment and a let down to the community it serves.

Awful facility. No space for dogs to run. Was lied to on the phone when they said they had a large area for the dogs to romp and play; they do not. Gave food instructions and treats-instructions not followed and they gave no treats.Offered a bath after 3 days-no bath was given. What a scam---Don't waste your money here.

If you love your animals as if they were your kids, then this is definitely the Vet for you! Dr. Varela took over the hospital from the previous vet we used there. The number of clients that have grown while he has been there is a testament to his skill and compassion to both the animals and their owners. I have used the other vet (Dr. Johnston) for my animals shots and he seems great also. I love the staff! They have friendly dispositions. The staff work well together (from our perspective) and it definitely helps ease your own anxieties. They provide boarding with staff 24/7. When I have to take my animals in for care, I have no doubt that they are in the best hands found in the Valley. I have been overly cautious with my sick cat, but Dr. Varela and staff never once made me feel stupid and took the time to meet with me and ease my fears. He has even called me after a long day of surgeries to provide me an update. Definitely goes above & beyond. Thumbs up!!!

I met Dr. Varela at another animal hospital in 2008. I actually met him by accident. My Sputters was diagnosed with Lymphoma. When I saw how much he cared about her and how much she loved him I followed him when he moved. I take all of my dogs to see him. I highly recommend this hospital and all of it's staff. I have seen them work behind the scenes! THEY CARE!As far the CHOP SHOP COMMENT! PLEASE! Vaccinations are for the immune system and it can be messed up if they are givin to close together! So it would be better to wait than to give them to close together. DO YOUR HOME WORK! Like you said you had NO history, better to be safe then sorry!!! They care about the health of the pet.

I discovered CANAH after it re-opened with "Dr. Dusty" and subsequently with Drs. Johnston and Varela. My boy Otis was diagnosed with Lymphoma in FEB 2010 and we spent six intensive months getting to know these fine doctors and their staff. Yes, it is their chosen profession and they are paid well as doctors should be; however, I have seen first-hand the caring way these fine folks treat animals in their care. We were treated with respect and I have enjoyed giving them my business. Two weeks ago had to make an an emergency call for assistance when Otis had what appeared to be an allergic reaction as his throat was swelling and was in danger of dying as his airway was severely restricted. I caught Dr. Varela shortly after he had just arrived home after an -hour day at the office. He rushed back to the clinic, immediately performed actions and administered drugs to calm Otis down and alleviate the situation. Dr. Varela called his vet. tech "Dr Brittney" back into the clinic after-hours a

The vet does his job well, But it is "Just a job". Did not give my cat shots even after being told we had no history of care. Prices a little? high! try very high for mimnimal care! This is not just a "pet", She became part of the Family after she decided we were good enough to move in with!If you have an animal not a family member this place will work well for you, other wise look else where.

The vet was good but the overall care of my cat was far below my standards and expectations. They fixed her but did not care!! They did not give mandatory shots even after being told she had no history of care. they over charged for basic treatment and i would never take my pets or recommend anyone to them .

This facility is very clean from what I saw of it. Its nice that they have walk-in service. Thier prices are a little on the high side of the price range. But of course if you dont make money you cant stay in business... With a car shop next to them, there are few parking spaces to park in. The staff is very polite and are very caring about all the pets, even after 1 doc had an bad case of a dog that had blown stuff from the rear on to his shirt.

I love Dr. Spencer, she has been nothing but helpfull to me and my pets!!
