I have purchased cameras from Newtonville Camera for many years. They are knowledgeable and very reliable

We had a very poor experience where the owner treated my adult daughter in a rude, disrespectful manner when she had questions about a vintage camera that she had purchased overseas. Instead of receiving help on supplies she wanted to buy, she received a condescending lecture on the poor value that she had purchased. This resulted all of us feeling very badly about the experience. I have been going here for many years and always tolerated the owner's lack of emotion and his grumpy attitude but, until today, felt that the store could offer more about cameras than other local options but this recent experience was enough to say that I will not willingly shop there again. I like going to stores that show appreciation and allow the customer to feel good about the experience. I honestly don't believe that the owner acted this way to be intentionally mean but rather he just doesn't have any insight on how his abrupt nature impacts the customer experience so negatively. I am disappointed because this store is one of the last remaining dedicated camera stores and the owner is driving us to buy even more on-line when we would rather support a local business. However, I will not shop where you feel worse leaving than when you arrived.

Fast and Professional

I dropped 2 big bag of 8mm film to be transferred onto DVD, on a Monday. I also asked to have 3 copies made of each DVD. They said they usually ask for a week but would try to have them completed by Saturday. I called on Friday morning, just to check, and the work would be complete that afternoon! I was very happy because this was a last minute idea one of my friends had as a gift for his sister's 40th wedding anniversary. I had hoped some of the DVD's would be complete but, am delighted that they all would be ready for the big party. Thanks, Newtonville Camera!
