I don't understand how this place gets good reviews. I sent in a DVF cashmere dress which had a very small hole (it got caught). The owner, Ron, said he does this type of repair work all the time. OK, great, love the dress, it was expensive so I tell him to go ahead with the repair. Fast forward, get the dress back and I am shocked at how horrible and sloppy this repair turned out. TOTALLY OBVIOUS, NOT INVISIBLE. The area of the repair is puckered, the yarn looks too thick and they managed to pull color out and weaken that area of the dress, (most likely due to them pressing it to smooth out the puckering due to weaving it too tight)....kind of like when an iron is left on too long and you get that horrendous burn mark which totally ruins the article of clothng forever? Yeah, like that....Ron denies this and said they only steam. Caught you Ron!!!!! Who the hell PRESSES or even STEAMS CASHMERE? WHO? Don't you know doing that actually DAMAGES the fibers???? SHAME ON YOU RON and that explains why I got my dress back with a brand new HOLE. Totally unacceptable. Ron tells me it was a moth hole. NO RON, it wasn't. I don't have moths in my home. I am very particular and take extremely good care of my clothes. I have several cashmere pieces all in perfect condition, however if you are to be believed, apparently a "phantom moth" decided to go in my closet and only attack the black cashmere DVF!!!!!!....Makes perfect sense, right Ron? WRONG.. OWN IT, you screwed up...Please, that is the biggest bunch of BS I have ever heard. I told you from the beginning exactly what happened...what part of that didn't you understand? Are you calling me a liar? Perhaps you should sharpen up on your listening skills. It would also be a good idea to actually check the work before it goes out. I don't know who, in their right mind, would think the work you did on my dress was acceptable and let it go out like that. Very careless work and absolutely no attention to detail. Not to mention, my dress was sent back to me full of lint rolled up in a tiny box like an old schmata. An expensive dress with a minor flaw needs to be discarded now, totally unwearable because they managed to ruin it TOTALLY and then have the nerve to send it back to me. JUST LOVELY. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR CASHMERE REPAIRS. I had a couple of repairs done years ago by Alice Zotta. She was absolutely PHENOMENAL. It is a huge loss that she is not here any longer. Her work was FLAWLESS. Apparently the family has taken over her business and from what I hear the work coming out of there is not great like it used to be. If anyone has a recommendation for a GREAT re-weaver who truly does outstanding work, please post it here. Thanks in advance.
