- Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is an industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant making organization. A part of the American Theatre Community, BC/EFA s was founded in 1988 and has raised more than $100 million for critically needed services for people with AIDS, HIV or HIV-related illnesses. A number of broadway, off-broadway and national touring shows have performed for the organization, such as The Easter Bonnet Competition , Nothin' Like A Dame , Broadway Bares , Flea Market and Grand Auction and Gypsy of the year competition. Active since 1987, its National Grants Program is one of the largest of its kind in the United States. BC/EFA is located in the New York City.
