I've been to many zoos, this one was the worst. There were hardly any animals, and you had to walk so far to get to each exhibit. There was alot of construction, so several exhibits were closed which i understand. However what zoo does not have lions, bears, or wolves? No rare foxes? For the amount of money it costs to take your family to the zoo it simply was not worth it. The best part of our entire day was feeding the birds. Which costs extra. Everything does! Next time we're going to Memphis, I don't plan to ever return to Nashville's zoo.

This is a wonderful zoo! One of my favorites, and I've been to several through the years. It seems to get better every year. Go early to avoid the crowds, especially on nice weekend days.

The exhibits are top notch, the zoo is easy to go through without missing anything (using a map or their signs), and the animals have plenty of room to move around. My favorites were the zebras and elephants.

Beautiful, green environment smack in the middle of Nashville. Wonderful place to take children, including a marvelous playground and a gorgeous carousel.

We love this zoo and got a membership (recommended - no lines and free parking, plus you can hop in and out for a stroll). Though some of the cages need work (others have been under construction for a while), the overall impression is that there is genuine care and concern for the animals and that the animals live in a relatively nice environment.

The Nashville Zoo never disappoints. There are several large exhibits under construction, but the staff is friendly and the jungle gym play area is the best. The zoo is almost always open, get their early and head for the Kangaroos first. The sweet older man who collects tokens at the carousel is a reason to love life.

We love visiting the Nashville Zoo. It is fun to play on the massive playground and to visit with the animals.

This is truly a beautiful zoo, which blends the feel of native Nashville's landscape with global exhibits. Best in spring and fall when weather is pleasant, although you can bring coolers/food in all year (no straws to protect animals). Membership is worth it because you can make many short trips. You can even add on unlimited rides on the Eagle, train, carousel for a fee to the membership.

The Nashville Zoo seems to lack attractions. The attractions that are available are nice. We love the old barn and the overall experience of the zoo.

Great place to spend a weekday afternoon (if you want to stay away from the crowded weekends). The grounds are pleasant, and the habitats are lovely. I do wish they had a few more exotic animals and that there wasn't so much construction, but otherwise it's a lot of fun! The kangaroo exhibit is the best!

The Grasmere zoo is the best. It's still relatively new when compared to all the older, much better grounded zoos, which makes it cost more. They're still building the zoo, so many exhibits are still in the future. I'm not complaining on the "lack of other animals"; on the contrary, I just count myself fortunate that I can see what they do have. If others want to complain about the imagined "lack of animals", then why don't they just build their own zoo and see how it's like?

Cute

Cute ids the only word that I can think this fits for the zoo. It's a small intimate place with a decent layout. It is small so it feels overcrowded very easily. I thought that the animal enclosures were very small and didn't allow the animals enough room to roam. But since it is a small zoo they don't have a lot of animals. No lions, sea life, etc. It's $15 to enter and they do offer a membership. For the size I think the price is a little over, but it's not unreasonable. All in all, we probably won't be back, but we did enjoy our day.

Relaxing and educational!

I love the Nashville Zoo. It has some nice and unique features and they're adding new animals every year! Sure, it's a hike getting to some of the features, but what better way to spend the day strolling along studying the animals. As for the animals not being up and around, they aren't trained to be at our beck and call, they have to sleep...it just gives you reason to find out their sleeping habits and come back when they're there.
