East Clayton Elementary School provides academic classes to more than 550 students in kindergarten through grade five. It is a part of Clayton County Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. The school has a parent-teacher association that provides support and assistance to the school by organizing various fundraising events and activities. It has a library media center that offers a collection of more than 14,000 books and electronic card catalogs for research purposes. The school provides educational classes in various subjects, such as special education, art, music, basic skills, math, science, social studies, health and physical education. East Clayton Elementary School has been operational for more than 65 years and is located in Ellenwood, Ga.
