Well the lady picked out 3 or four dresses for me and told me to try them on. Once I didn't like any of them she told me "she couldn't help me " and that "she didn't have anymore in my size" as she was saying this she also told all of these "average" size girls to pick out the dresses they wanted and she would help them. So why is it I didn't even get to pick out what I wanted(mind u she didn't even ask me what I wanted) and she "only had 4 dresses in my size" I felt like I was being treated horribly because I'm plus sized. I ended up leaving almost in tears. I ended up going to David's bridal and they helped me so much and I got to have a say and they have such a big verity of sizes! ANYONE who is "plus sized" I suggest you do NOT go to the special event bridal shop. They also have crazy prices. They made me feel extremely bad about my body and like I was less important because of my size.

First class service and a unique gorgeous display of gowns to choose from! First of all, I want to tell a little bit of my story. I was moving out of state, and had two weeks to find a bridal gown because I wanted to buy one with my best friends opinion before I moved. I called Special Event Bridal Shoppe and told them I needed an appointment at 8AM (even though they opened later) and asked if that was possible. Nilza, the owner said no problem, what is your style? I immediately told her what I liked and disliked. When I arrived for my appointment, she pulled the dresses from her inventory, and I loved each and every one. The first one she pulled I knew was the "one", but it was the last I tried on. All of them were so elegant and beautiful, but it was the one she knew I would love the most I purchased. She knew I would be getting married soon, and made sure the gown was at her place so I could make plans to fly back up (from South Carolina) for my fitting. I can't say enough wonderful things about her Shoppe and first class service. Her daughter Michelle played a role that was also important, an unbiased opinion, which I needed!



I felt like I had known Nilza and Michelle for years by the time I chose the gown I wanted for my wedding day. Her veils, shoes and accessories were also gorgeous and complimented my gown times ten! I recommend her Shoppe, not only for wedding gowns, but for black tie events and proms. They certainly know their stuff, and make you feel like you are the most important person in the world.
