I ordered the Chilean sea bass and my spouse ordered a steak. We were sitting on the barely lit patio, so once the food arrived I couldn't see it, I went to cut it and couldn't cut into the sea bass with a steak knife!! It was completely raw, and not just a little in the center, the entire thing was raw! After this I felt like I was going to be sick. The general manager came out and said he would take care of it for me, and make me another one. At that point I didn't want any meat at all, I was so grossed out by the raw sea bass. As I sat for a half hour and watched my spouse completely finish his dinner and I still hadn’t even ate. The general manager was completely rude, had an attitude and argued with me, like it was my fault the chef gave me raw fish... And this is considered fine dining??? I will never go back.
Had dinner last night (18th) & had the toughest steak I have eaten in years. I was a guest of someone else so I did not say anything during dinner, but wanted to tell other people. For $37 you should get a decent cut of beef. If it wasn't for the view the whole evening would have been a bust. Not going back!!!
Overall a decent experience. The food was very good, and the steak was excellent. However, we had a reservation and they did seat us right away we were right on the edge of the bar with a lot of people waiting for tables. I could not talk to my wife on our date across the table from me with basically shouting. And our waitress could not hear us either. Everything we ordered was follow by "what?"
My only other complaint was the way they are priced. They charge you separately for everything, salad to sides to compliments. Everything has a separate price. That way you rack up quite a bill for things like your salad which is usually included in the price of your entree. But they would be glad to serve it to you as if it was. Watch out for that.
I usually only go to Simm's Landing for special occasions since it is a big pricey. But, they have some of the best food and wine you can find. My favorite is the Halibut Oscar! Also, the ambiance is wonderful! The view of downtown Denver is so awesome and quite romantic. I would definitely recommend Simm's Landing!
