I recently went into this store to find the owner very very rude. He definitely needs to take some customer service classes. I have never been so shocked on how this talked to his customers plus watching their every move as if were going to steal something. I would not recommend this store to my worst enemy much less a good friend.

We are avid antiquers or pickers as it's come to be called and we have met every personality in the seller spectrum. We have dealt with those who just want to sell, those who just want to get rid off their stuff and those who think their stuff is God's gift to humanity. When we decided to go back to one of our favorite antique hot spots in La Porte called Vickies, we were bummed to find out she was closed. So we decided to go next door and check out a newly opened place called Mikes. We were excited and hopeful....boy were we wrong. I have been trained in costumer service, it is ingrained in me and I expect that when I go into a business to spend money that I will get great costumer service. While we finished up our shopping we had only gathered a few items that could fit in your front pocket. In other words they were small tiny items worth no more than a buck a piece. As we were putting our items on the counter we over heard mike telling a costumer his whole life story in a very rude tone that ended with Mike saying, "so why would I do that", no one needs to be bullied for wanting to barter. So once I placed my items on the counter I asked if I could get all five times for 5 bucks...his response, "why would I do that?" Why? Well let me tell you... Cause money is better than no money. It was a few things I found buried in a grab box that he wanted for 5 bucks a piece. Ya that was a no go. I couldn't believe the horrible attitude that was thrown at us. All over little junk drawer items. Guys beware of this place. They have too much pride in their things. Stick with Vickie's next door. Happy picking.
