In 1990, Michelle and Marlin Zwicky founded Every Good Gift, Inc. Their handcrafted anointing oil they created to serve fellow believers developed into a thriving business manufacturing quality anointing oils and supplying them to Christian bookstores, churches and other ministries, and believers throughout the world. In 2011, Phil and Katie Rokohl were looking for a business that would bring their Christian faith more fully into their daily lives. After discovering the opportunity to purchase Every Good Gift, their pastor delivered a sermon about misguided focus on worldly possessions and that every good and perfect gift is from above (James 1:17). The knew this was God speaking his will to them so they purchased Every Good Gift and continue the traditions of making high quality anointing oils and related products. The Rokohls and their team is committed to providing superior anointing oils, oil holders, and gifts using the most beautiful fragrances available to support Christians in prayer. Their work supports the spirit of the many Scriptures that mention God embracing use of fragrance and oil. In Genesis 28:18, oil is first used by Jacob to pour over the stone he had used as a pillow then set up as a pillar to the Lord. In the Old Testament, the act of anointing was frequently used to set apart people or things for God's exclusive use. The Hebrew word anoint actually means to rub or to smear. Under God's direction, Aaron and his sons, King Saul, King David, and other faithful servants were anointed with oil to symbolize the Holy Spirit empowering them for God's work. Fragrance is added to the Oil of Gladness anointing oils to follow the traditions outlined in Scriptural references from the Bible. Before anointing Aaron to lead the faithful from Egypt, the Lord instructed Moses to add fragrance and spice to the sacred anointing oil that would be used in anointing him, his sons, and the tent of wilderness meeting. One of the most significant references to fragrance in the Bible is from 2 Corinthians 2:14: But thanks be to God who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him. And in verse 2:16, To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. Through following the traditions of the Bible, the scents are available to users as a reminder throughout the day of their own faith and God's love for them.
