Layne-Western is a part of Layne Christensen Company, which has been providing drilling services for vital natural resources, such as water, minerals and energy. Its water resources division provides a range of water-related services, including hydrological studies, site selection, well design, drilling and well development, pump installation, and repair and maintenance. The division also offers services that include the design and construction of water treatment facilities and the manufacture and sale of products to treat volatile organics and contaminants, such as nitrates, iron, manganese, arsenic, radium and radon in groundwater. Layne Christensen Company maintains the GeoConstruction Division, which provides services to the heavy civil construction market related to civil, industrial and commercial construction projects, including major structures, dams, tunnels, shafts, utilities and civil facilities. Layne-Western is located in Kansas City, Kan.
