I love this place. The other Indian Cuisine restaurants I've tried locally do not compare. Its nice not to have to drive all the way to Orlando to find a decent spot.

All around eww

The food is not all the great, the servers are down right rude with an attitude, but to top the cake they counted the tip in front of you! I for sure am not going there again, bad all around!

Best Indian Cuisine in Jax

Masala has excellent food, service, and ambience. I enjoyed every bite of the three separate dishes that i ordered. Masala came highly recommended to me and i highly recommend them to everyone.

I am Indian, My name is Ashish Pandey, I am Basically from Mumbai ,india and I regularly have Indian food outside. I've been to other Indian restaurants in the area and had a decent experience ,I wanted the best Indian food for my wedding because my Wife's parents are from India and we picked in this Indian Restaurant in down town because we have tried many Indian restaurants and we found this restaurant to be the best amongst the lot. The on site tandoor with exceptional decoration and live sitar and tabla music and buffet setup we loved it all. When we went to the restaurant to settle the bill we were asked to share our experience with others and I thought of writting on the net. I can not thank anymore when I told the owners to give special attantion because I want my mother in law to be impressed and she was really impressed and I am glad we picked this indian restaurant to cater the wedding. The customer service was great.

Masala is destined to become 'the' favorite restaurant for delicious Indian cuisine. Having only opened five months ago, in April 2009, they have already earned rave reviews in the local press. I took my reluctant family, who had never tried Indian food before, to this restaurant and they are now converts and cannot wait to return.

I regret what happened with Cilantros, but am ecstatic that Masala has come to Mandarin! We've been sorely lacking in any good ethnic food south of Baymeadows. Very good buffet- fresh with lots of variety.

Went to this restaurant on their opening day, there was a large crowd, the food was delicious but the service was poor.It is worth going to eat for and hopefully from their first day they have improved thier service. They had good North Indian style Buffet moderately priced at $7.99. with free drinks. Would like to go for dinner just to check out the place.

really good

I had cravings for Indian food, so I went to Cilantro Indian Cuisine, at first I was a little scared, because everybody talks about indian food, as a really spicy food.

When we got there, we waited at the door to be seated, but nobody greated us, and we were looking for somebody to seat us, but we only saw Indian people, so I got even more scared because I thoght "what if the servers don't understand us?.. and they gave us something we don't like" but any ways, we went to bar, and waited for a little bit, and then somebody came to us and gave us a table. we looked the menu, and I decided to have Tandoori grill, which was really good, it had some giant shrimps, chiken and some other meat that Im not sure what I was, I wasn't spicy at all, and my boyfriend had a lamb stew which was really good too, the server was really friendly and the food was deliciuos.

It was an exiting experience, it was my first time eating Indian Food, and Im coming back for sure. but next time I want to try the Buffet.

Needs Improvement

Service was poor, although management was apologetic.

No accommodation for children.

Small portions, menu pricing expensive side. Seating was cramped. Not a very good representation of East Indian cuisine.. However, the nan bread was very good, and possibly the only saving point.
