Having worked in the food industry for almost fifteen years, I have learned to scale my expectations about a dining experience. An excellent or disappointing experience can boil down to small details that were in the mix before even arriving to dinner. So it is with no great haste that I rate Romano's Macaroni Grill so poorly. The atmosphere is warm and open but the service and food quality are unfortunate. Again, it was no single visit that lead me to this conclusion but a number of visits with friends, family and business accquaintances. Food undercooked, overcooked, prepared incorrectly, served with plastic lids floating in them are just a few of the incidents that influenced my rating. Couple that with service that seems confused at best and oblivious at worst, you have an unfortunate dining experience.
