Metcalf Elementary School provides learning opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade five. It provides transportation to students who qualify for the preschool program for children with disabilities for visiting sites that provide these programs. The school s academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, technology applications, health and physical education, art, music and theater arts. It also offers English as a Second Language and gifted education programs. The school s media center is a learning resource center and houses supplemental multimedia materials and a variety of recreational and informational reading selections. It additionally offers the HORIZONS program for academically gifted students. Metcalf Elementary School is a part of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District and is located in Houston.
