Expensive!!! A billing nightmare!
I came home early from a holiday trip because the whole family was ill. Woke up on this morning thinking that I may have strep throat and wanted to make sure that my baby had not been exposed to it (if I tested positive, we could all be treated).
Everyone was extremely friendly. Suspiciously friendly. They wanted to be clear that this is an ER, not Urgent Care when I filled out the paperwork. Concerned that the visit would not be covered by my insurance, the girl at the desk phoned the insurance company and assured me that I was, in fact, covered. The visit was fine, the place was completely empty except for the buzz of a half dozen employees. I was spoken to as if I was born yesterday by everyone I encountered, it turns out, I might as well have been. 6 months later, I received a bill. It was for $1200, plus a separate bill from the doctor for $500. Sent to my insurance, all will have to be paid out of pocket having not met our deductible last year. My issue lies in the billing procedures. Reassured that my insurance would cover it initially, even told that perhaps I would only owe a co-payment, I agreed to treatment, I was billed after a completely untimely 6 months after the fact. The bills have zero breakdown, The items simply say, "doctor services" and "emergency room services" and when I called them (several times, leaving messages for several days in a row), they explained that there is no breakdown. I consider myself to be an intelligent, and even educated person, suspicious of so many things, yet I missed this scam completely, and it is a scam. Go to urgent care or go to the real ER, attached to a real hospital.

Came to the hospital the day after I had surgery. Everyone was absolutely amazing they called check on me the next day I received a card in the mail thanking me for being there. The person at the front desk did call my insurance and verify that it was indeed covered since I had met my deductible I knew I would only have my copay. As to the person before me on this review When you have paid your deductible you’re only required to pay part of your stay just like any hospital, doctors office or medical services. Nothinh is free we livs in America.
As for the care that I received this was by far the best experience that I have ever had. The compassion that I received was the one in 1 million. I have had a lot of medical experiences recently unfortunately. If I lived closer I would use them completely
