Located in Houston, Horne Elementary School enrolls nearly 1,000 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. It is a part of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District and offers a variety of subjects, such as reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, technology applications, music, theater arts, and health and physical education. The school has a parent-teacher organization that funds cultural activities and field trips and sponsors and conducts various fundraising events. It features several enrichment activities, such as student clubs, tutorial sessions, academic competitions and field trips. The school maintains the Learning Resource Center, which houses supplemental multimedia materials and a range of recreational and informational reading selections. Horne Elementary School has a staff of counselors, nurses, reading specialists, and speech and language therapists.
