Leased a 5 series for 3 years. Before I returned the car, I took it to an auto body shop and had every ding, knick and scratch corrected so that I would not have have to pay BMW an outrageous markup for the same work. The car was dopped off to their lease end department - which incenveniently does not allow you to drop off on weekends - and was issued a release letter. 2 months later, happily driving a new Audi A6 - I get a bill in the mail for $2000!! My husband and I were floored that they had the gall to charge us for a list of items that we had no way of disputing! How is this legal?? My only choice was to bend over and pay or dispute and run the risk of hurting my credit. Lets just say it hurts when I sit down. Boo Greeniwch!
