I would suggest you all read the Landlord Tennant act from Front to back 1) any apartment complex in Washington State is required to refund your deposit in full within I believe 30 days they cannot hold your deposit or charge you for damages for normal wear and tear by Washington State law normal wear and tear is new paint new carpet or normal cleaning....things of that nature. They can however hold your deposit or charge you for extensive damages, for example holes in walls broken windows things of that nature if they do hold your deposit or try to charge you for normal wear and tear damages you can take them to small claims court and win and almost any lawyer will take this for free Because it's easy when and a have to pay for your legal fees and interest. 2) You can also break your lease without consequence if you feel your life is in jeopardy for instance if there are gangs lots of break ins and vandalism things of that nature make sure you file a police report and bring it to the office and let them know why, again if they won't allow you to I would contact a lawyer and this will be an easy thing to win And most lawyers that handle this kind of thing if you have all of your proof and especially police report they will take the case for free because the apartments will have to pay for your legal fees and interests. 3)If you're apartment complex charges you for a repair the needs to be tongue that is legal however they have to take it off your rent for example you're in is $1000 but they're maintenance is going to charge you $20 to fix your dishwasher that is legal however now you're in is going to be $800 just make sure you get a receipt. I don't reside At this apartment complex but I am currently searching and I hope this information helps.

Bad Management - Bad Maintenance - Overpriced

I currently reside at Bayview and the maintenance here is the worst that I have ever experienced. I have spoken with 4 different managers, over the last 3 years, about securing the outgoing mail box, the box has now been stolen from 2 times and still it has not been repaired. When I asked about other repairs I was told "perhaps I would rather live someplace else". Only 1 of the last 5 years has the pool has been heated. I caught the maintenance man trying to steal from a tenant who was being evicted. I have been lied to, called a liar, ignored and threatened by the management. Bayview is dirty, unsecured, and expensive. In the hallway you can hear the resident's forks on their dinner plates, as well as the TV, phone calls, etc. There have been 9 managers over the last 5 years and only 2 of them actually cared about the tenants. There is literally no place for children to play. Expect immediate rent increases, the first 2 lease renewals had a $50 increase, so I pay $750 for a 1 bedroom. Too expensive for a poorly maintained, 45 year old building, with bad management.
