Very shady business practices - stay away! I rarely write reviews but I had a terrible experience, and feel compelled to warn others away. I took my 10 year old sewing machine in for a free estimate. The sewing machine was a $100 reconditioned kenmore. The store owner called the next day, to say it was dirty inside, in very bad shape and would cost $65 to fix. I told him not to fix it and I would talk to my husband and we would likely buy a new machine. Later that day, I went to pick my sewing machine up. It was on the counter. The owner tried to sell me a reconditioned machine that was in his shop for $100. I said I wanted to do research on sewing machines and I'd just take mine. He refused, grabbed my machine and said:"just give me $50". I said "no, I was not ready to pay that much money to get an old, cheap sewing machine fixed". He then stated, "he needed 5 minutes to put it back as it was!" I had no idea what he was talking about as the machine looked exactly as it was so I stated I was taking my machine "as is"!!! He kept refusing and wanted to hold my sewing machine hostage until I paid $50 or bought a used machine from him!!!! After a heated exchange, he stated he had fixed my sewing machine already, "because he had to" and he needed to "break it again" before giving it back to me. I certainly did not trust him "breaking it" and I really have no reason to believe it was truly a $65 fix. I finally took my machine after threatening to call the cops! In summary, the store owner wanted to charge me $65 for work I did not authorize and for work he could undo in 5 minutes!!! Really? What kind of business model is that?

One very small shop run by a guy who can clean, fix, repair, and put together any vacuum cleaner, and lots of other appliances, too. Highly recommended.
