I have adopted two wonderful dogs from FOA. They are very vested in finding the best fit for animal and adopting family. They serve a huge need in the area and so glad they are moving into a new facility that will better serve the needs of the community. Love this place and support it whole-heartedly!

They maintain a friendly atmosphere for the animals!

Friends of Animals humain society seems to have a good atmosphere for the animals imprisoned there. The staff is very friendly also, but one staff member stood out from the rest. We had found an animal that we found interest in. As we were in the visiting room getting acquainted with the animal, she insisted on schooling us on what kinds of procedures we would have to do when taking a new animal home, what we have to do to make the animal feel at home, ext. As she was explaining the cost of the animal, (which if I may add was terribly high, but I understand the money is used for keeping the place up and running) I asked why the fee was so high, when a person could get a free dog that's not in a cage, take it in to be altered, shots and wormed for up to $70.00. Instead of trying to change our minds or outlook, or sticking up for the humain society, or most importantly trying to find a home for the animal in need of placement, she said "Then maybe that's the best option for you then." When we're talking about animals in cages, and being around other stressed animals, it creates stress on all of the animals. Why would you talk sombody out of getting an animal out of this kind of situation? I guess in all of this rant, I want to say we wish the city council could see there employee really shine in her true colors, and we wish we could've gotten somebody else with much better people skills. (the entire rest of the staff)
