The Southeastern Virginia Training Center works to provide community-based support system for persons with mental retardation and related developmental disabilities. It offers empowerment, education, habilitation and health services. The center additionally handles evaluation, treatment and training in the areas of speech, language, physical and occupational therapies, vocational and audiology, and recreation and leisure. The Southeastern Virginia Training Center also provides medical, dental and psychiatric care services to residents. It maintains a food service department that provides essential nutritional services well-balanced, nutritional meals. The center additionally offers a range of social and health services. The Southeastern Virginia Training Center is located in Chesapeake, Va.
