Chryssie's has great designer gowns at good prices. They often have trunk shows that give further discounts. I bought my gown, veil, and bridesmaids dresses from them, despite living more then three hours away.



The problem comes from their customer service. The ladies working there and the owner, George, are all nice people. That said, they have issues. The shop is far too busy, and you often have to wait a long time to speak to someone. Even with an appointment, my first visit I had to wait almost half an hour. When trying on my gown when I went to pick it up, the employee assisting me kept getting pulled away to do other things. I confirmed three times with them that the color of bridemaid's gowns I wanted was available, only to get a call after I'd given them the money saying they weren't. They did arrange to have the designer specially make them for me and ate the extra cost - I give them credit for that. They said they'd call me when my veil came in, but never did. I needed it for my final fitting so I called to see when it would be in and lo and behold it had been in for "a while" and they'd never called.



My mother, who also ordered her dress from them, had a horrible experience. She'd been told when she paid for her gown that it would be in in plenty of time. Then, when she checked on it later she found out it would arrive a week to two before the wedding, and she'd never been warned of this. She asked them to call and put a rush on it and she was willing to pay extra. They said it would be in and gave her a date. It was not in. When it finally did arrive and she went to pick it up they couldn't find it and it took them half an hour to give it to her.



Chryssie's could be a great shop, but needs to be more consistent. I think if they trained their staff and didn't handle so many walk-in's they'd be better served. Take appointments and if someone walks in and you don't have time to help them, give them an appointment for later. They need better organization as a whole.

I have to say I have been going to this store for years; I've gotten my prom dresses from them when I went to high school. When it was time for me to get married I went back to my favorite shop! I just love all their dresses. They have gowns for all occasions!! It was so hard to just pick one! Great selection of bridesmaids as well.

I am not a girly-girl at all. I've been a tom boy all my life... I always hated dressing up but alas, we were having a formal wedding and something about getting married brought out the tomantic in me so I set out to find myself a real bridal gown. After a series of disappointing trips to some other bridal shops in the south shore area I found myself at Chryssies. My luck had finally changed!! The two ladies I worked with was awesome. She mad great suggestions but really tried to help me find something that would still fell like me. Which, may i add, was challenging! I asked a zillion questions and they were able to answer them all. We must have tried on 20 dresses before I decided on THE ONE! My dress arrived a couple weeks ahead of time and alterations were a breeze! On my wedding day I got so many compliments! I did NOT want to take off my dress!

I had been on my wedding dress search for quite sometime when i made my appointment at Chryssie's. I was so frustrated that I hadn't found I dress yet and I was so unexcited about going to another store.



The shop is small but carries many designers. Their wedding dresses were gorgeous! I got a Mori Lee gown for a great price! The sales associates were extremely helpful and very nice. You can tell they love their jobs. They were giving me ideas for everything from color themes to bridesmaid dresses to the mother dresses.



I would put this on your list of shops to check out if you are in a wedding or getting married.

My daughter picked her bridesmaid dress up 2 weeks ago, and tried it on in the shop to see how it fit.Well it DID'NT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The woman at Chryssies told my daughter that dresses always come in a little big.This dress isnt just a little big it is so large my daughter had to keep her street clothing on under the dress just to show the woman how rediculous it is.The woman did not offer her any assistance or advice other than this is the way it is. Last Sunday March 9th,2008 my daughter and I had gone to a PROFESSIONAL seamstress , The seamstress measured my daughter and said she couldnt believe the size of the dress and stated that my daughter was incorrectly measured and to bring the dress back to the shop and have them remeasure and order another. So back to CHRYSSIES we go again!!!!!!!!!! The manager heard us explain the situation to one of the sales girls and came over to us saying they measured my daughter correctly and would not order another dress for her.The he stated that sometimes people lose weight between the time the dress was ordered and when the dress arrives at the shop, We told him she did not and we understand that dresses are ordered a little big for alterations but 6 inches too big???? Then he said that my daughter signed the contact which is nothing but a sales slip, I told him they are supposed to be the profesionals not the customers that come in the store. The more we conversed about the situation the more he put on his cockey attitude, he really made us feel very unwelcolmed, uncomfortable, and it was our problem and not his. Finally he offered to have the dress fitted on Tuesday or a Thursday, so they could alter it. My daughter told him that she lives in NH and goes to college and works and couldnt make it down to his shop again this week.Then he said theres nothing I can do for you. Why I ask couldnt he have had my daughter remeasured that day??? there were 2 sales associates there and not a customer in sight. A little advice NEVER PATRON THIS SHOP, if you do so make sure you gain at leat 50 pounds before your dress arrives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

store and staff really nice: Have been to Chryssie's twice now. The first time was to look for my bridal gown (which is beautiful!!) and just finished going back for tuxedo rental (got a great discount). They also have alot of cool bridesmaid dresses for cheaper than I've seen elsewhere and I'm going to tell my niece about all the prom dresses & gowns. (the girl there said they don't sell the same prom gown to the same school..The store is very cool looking and a great change from the chain stores. The staff was very friendly, not pushy at all and helped me out with great suggestions for color themes and flowers. Not to mention the great selection of beautiful dresses...

This place is a terrible. The people that work there are pushy and RUDE. Their main concern is making sure that they get their money, because they are certainly not concerned with the satisfaction of your purchase. I couldn't wait to get my dress so that I would never have to deal with these people again. Do yourself a favor and go to the next listing on this page. Trust me, you will thank me!!

Do not go to this store if you expect good customer service. In my opinion a bride should be catered to when spending money on her bridal gown. The only reason that I am giving this store two stars is because I purchased my gown here. They do have decent inventory and prices. However, the saleswoman that is always there is rude, pushy and condescending. She ruined the experience of buying my bridal gown, I ended up in tears when it came in because it was too big, no one could alter it, and no one at the store cared, including the woman who sold it to me. She did nothing but tell me lies. All she cared about was the commission and once she had that she was done with me. Do not waste your time here.

I've been to at least four bridal boutiques on the south shore looking for wedding dresses. In comparison to the others I would give this boutique at least a four star. Unlike some of the others, I did not have a long wait to try on dresses and their selection of wedding dresses were organized well which made it easier to find what I was looking for. I found the sales representatives to be more knowledgeable as well; they gave me all kinds of information about tailoring that I did not receive anywhere else. Unfortunately, I did not purchase my dress at this boutique but I would go back again, the selection and personal service was great.
