I bought some parts from LKQ the other day which I liked very much. The sales and holding area employees were very nice and helped me all they could. However, they were severely limited when communicating with their other coworkers when a question came up that needed to be answered quickly.

I was in a hurry to determine if I had enough time to pick up my parts and make it back to where I had to be later in the day, so I asked if it the would be available today, because I was busy for the next two days. It took so long for the employees to communicate with each other to find out that my call was a total waste of time, and now I’m not going to be have to wait a few days.

LKQ evidently doesn’t allow their employees to communicate with each other on the phone, they must email and wait for an answer. So when one employee needs to contact another employee to get a question answered, they have to email each other which could take several minutes, if not hours, depending on how often the employees check their email , and to hell with the customers immediate needs.

I would think the customers should come first, and to restrict employees from answering their customer’s questions seems a little hard to believe. If a company has a problem with employees talking on the phone too much, their resolve shouldn’t make it harder for the customers.

We at Maaco use to order from them all the time, last year. Now, I wouldn't recommend them. The parts show up at the shop so late in the day my body man is already gone. Jobs have been on hold for 1-2 days every time we order. We use to get our parts between 7am-9am now they if they show it's after 4:30pm. What ever happened needs to be fixed!!! Last year we easily would have given them a 5 star.... NOW... they are lucky enough to receive a 1 star. Do NOT order used parts unless you are in NO hurry at all. It's NOT the driver or the guy on the phone, it's the NEW Fleet Mgr. that can't figure out how to STOP rocking the boat!!!

I called recently for a part from W&Vs. They, like so many other yards were recently taken over by LKQ. The most dismaying change is they have rehired an old employee, Lance Whipple. I've been in the automotive repair business for several decades now and I've watched this man drift from one wrecking yard to another only to be fired from each one for drug use, theft and back door deals. Let me spew out a few..Walt and Verns, South Hill Auto Wrecking, Meridian Auto Wrecking, and Gundies. I'm even told he worked for several shops which he was fired for due to theft. If you are forced to use LKQ, no not use this man, he is both an arrogant bastard and a thief!!!
