I am a Harvard-trained, solo practitioner psychiatrist and psychotherapist located in Boston, MA. As a psychotherapist, I endeavor to provide a space where it is safe for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and actions, such that you may develop the freedom to choose more of what you want in life rather than feeling stuck in old patterns of behavior that no longer serve you well. As a prescribing psychiatrist, when clinically indicated I may prescribe certain medications for the purpose of treating distressing symptoms of such conditions as depression, anxiety, complex grief, and trauma. In this case I will assume a role of professional consultant, giving you as much information as possible about the advantages and disadvantages of using a medication or medications. Together then, we can collaborate as to which if any medication may best suit you. Finally, as a healer, my goal is not only to ameliorate the symptoms of distress and disease but also to engage in such a way as to assist you in attaining growth, satisfaction, fulfillment, and wellness. I have 10 years of experience working as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist in the Boston area. I have expertise working with life transition issues, complex grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression. I provide brief or long term, psychodynamic, behavioral, mindfulness-based, substance abuse and supportive treatments; using individual, group, couples, family, and telepsychiatry-based modalities. I also specialize in working with young adult and college populations. I have familiarity with, and have collaborated closely with a network of practitioners in holistic medicine, health, and wellness fields, including massage, accupuncture, nutrition, yoga, mindfulness, and hypnosis. Those who wish may be referred to highly qualified specialists in any of these fields to complement and synergize with the psychological work they are performing. I am not affiliated with any insurance plan. However I can provide documentation and assist you in seeking reimbursement from your insurance company. I accept visa, mastercard, and discover credit cards. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.I look forward to the possibility of working with you!David Dybdal, MD, PhD __ADHD Anxiety Issues Bipolar Depressive Disorders Grief & Loss Medication Treatment Post Traumatic Stress Psychiatry Psychotherapy Schizophrenia Spiritual Concerns Stress Trauma
