Founded in 1997, LIN TV Corporation, formerly known as Ranger Equity Holdings Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, owns and operates nearly 40 television stations in the United States and Puerto Rico. The company provides daily local news coverage, public service announcements, and advertising time to local and national advertisers. In addition to network programming, the company also broadcasts locally produced entertainment and news programming, as well as a number of jointly produced broadcast projects with MTV in Puerto Rico. The company also leases space on its broadcast towers to two-way radio, paging, cellular and other broadcast service providers. LIN TV Corporation maintains its corporate headquarters in Providence, R.I.
