My current rabbit has been seen by Dr. Hageman for the past 5 yrs. Not once did she ever do a overall scan of his teeth (besides the two in front). She had always told me that he had shutdown from eatting because he had a hair mat. It turns out that his left jaw was badly infected and his teeth (roots) were growing around each other. He had fractured teeth (at two). He is not on antibiotics (for the infection) and will have chronic pain for the remainder of his life. We have left her practice and found help elsewhere with vets who actually know something about rabbits, especially when it comes to their teeth. Dr. Wendi Beers (Albany, CA). Dr. Josie Thompson (Walnut Creek, CA) sees between 15 and 20 rabbits on an annual basis. Learn from Harley's bad luck ... ask questions before you choose a vet, especially how many rabbits they see on an average.
